BioCanker Canison is an earthy soul, a spirit who finds communion with field and fen, with forest and fountain. He feels a strong affinity with animals, especially canids. As his name suggests, he is a Were, taking the form of both a fox (his spirit animal) and the wolf. He has also been known to take the form of a small purple parakeet and sit on the shoulder of Soldier Toy Mini Moose.
A further development of his lychanthropic abilities is the power to assume the shape of one of Canada’s most fearsome (and seldom seen) creatures—the Dire Moose.
As a Were (one who counts folk with Marsh and Gilman amongst his ancestors) he is a member of SLASHER and the 1890. However, he is not completely bestial (at least, most of the time he is not) and is also an active member of PACK (helping to keep the even more unruly creatures of night in line).
Canker calls no man master, except as an honourific to the evil scientist Dr. Carl von Richtoven, for whom he works as a willing and enthusiastic lackey. Canker’s usual duties in Castle Proppenstein include making deliveries of certain materials needed for Richtoven’s experiments, maintaining the kennels, prowling the moors and howling from the parapets. He is the guardian of Proppenstein’s princess, Agent Gizmo.
Richtoven continues to use his copy of the Moosenomicon to give Canker more power, and his continual dabbling in things best left alone have given rise to the Four Moose of the Moosocalypse. Within this quartet, Canker acts as Pestilence, with his swarm of stinging insects. Toy Mini Moose is War, MangoMoose is Famine, and Tinker the Amazing is the Moose-who-must-not-be-Named (HasteMoose), who is also Death. When all four Moose are in the TSU chat room at once, Chaos often appears.
Within TSU, Canker acts as the Canadian Ambassador for TSU as well as the Governor-General of the Utopian Playland Northern Frontier (aka TSU Canada), striving with his fellow Canadian Toy Soldiers to maintain the Ice Wall against the hordes of horrors to the frozen north, and to bring all of Canada under the sway of Dr. Steel. He is also a Moderator on the TSU forums and was made a Yellowjacket by Dr. Steel for his enthusiastic and diverse propaganda efforts.
Canker is the Governor-General/Cmdr of Division 1867 (TSU Canada), Commander of Division 315 (Toronto – Dr. Steel’s Own Flying Monkeys) and Commander of Division 1890 (HPL – His Pedagogical Lovecraftians). He is also Guardian #4815162342 in the Toy Soldier Tactical Security Special Ops (TTSS). As a proud Were, Canker is a member of the Steelwolves (an unofficial Were division) and of Dr. Steel’s Mighty Moose Corps (an unofficial Moose division). He is also a representative and administrator for the Voice of the Toy Soldiers (VOTTS) project on MySpace.
When not prowling the moors or spreading propaganda, Canker spends his time as a Browncoat (Toronto Browncoats, Canadian Browncoats), a Sky Pirate (as Cornelius von Kessel), a medieval Scot (THLaird Colyne Stewart of the SCA), a nautical terror (Cap’n Bloodfox, of the SCA), a Jedi Gunslinger, a steamtrooper and more.
He loves chicken wings, nachos, cheesecake and Coca-Cola.
